My grandmother kept me out late tonight.
A few weeks ago she decided to break down and finally get a computer. For the second time. She did this once before, but sadly her first-generation iMac was never touched. So last weekend, we took a trip to the Apple store and bought her a beautiful [...]

This weekend marked my 50 first days of fatherhood and it has been quite a ride. I’ve never felt so much pride, joy, frustration and exhilaration as I have in the last few weeks. I’ve also learned some lessons:

The stock market is crashing. Credit is drying up. Gas is flirting with $4 a gallon and oil is over $100 a barrel. Natural disasters are incinerating our forests, flooding our heartland and destroying our coastline. World opinion of the U.S. is at an all-time low. Global temperatures continue to [...]

Butt cubed

This was too good to pass up. I spotted this painting at a doctor’s office this afternoon.

It’s a painting of a butt, painted by Pic-ass-o, hanging in a gastroenterologist’s office. I’m never going to stop being 12.

It’s been raining here in North Texas for the past three days. This weekend we’re supposed to have thunderstorms and tropical storm force winds as the remnants of Hurricane Ike reach us. However, we had a short reprieve on Thursday afternoon. For a while, the sun was shining and it warmed up. [...]

I’m not sure if I’ve ever blogged about my type 1 diabetes on here or not. When I was younger, much of my identity was wrapped up in my diabetes. Not only was I the kid that got stickers when the rest of the class got candy, but I was also the only [...]
