Ever get hungry watching The Sopranos?

Whenever we have out-of-town guests, there’s one restaurant in Baltimore we are sure to hit. We discovered Sabatinos soon after we moved up, and we’ve been going a couple of times a month ever since. Located in the heart of Little Italy, Sabatinos is always a delight.
Unless you are lucky enough to find a spot on the street around the corner, expect a reasonable valet parking charge of $7 (before tip). We’ve never had to wait for a table, even on a Friday night. That’s probably because the place is huge. From what I’ve discovered so far, the dining rooms are spread across 3 or 4 floors of what appear to be 3 or 4 houses.
Service isn’t exactly prompt, but this is Baltimore after all, the slowest city in America. I’m no enologist, but I have found the wine selection to be satisfactory. The house chianti works fine for me. When the server does arrive, I always get a kick out of the hons in their throwback 1950’s uniforms. We’ve never tried an appetizer, because the table bread brought with your beverages is all we need. I’ve been somewhat adventurous with their menu. The manicotti, ravioli, and the frutti di mare are all first rate. However, I always come back to the baked rigatoni. Lisa’s never strayed from it. The portions are great for sharing, or at least giving you enough for lunch the next day. Even so, we’ve still have never had room for dessert. However, as with everything else at this gem of Baltimore, I’m sure it is top notch.
